I want to start this out by saying that giving a two star review is the hardest thing I will ever do. I hate it. I hate when book doesn’t totally consume me and entertain me. I would also like to say that a two star, by Goodreads standards means ‘I liked it’. Which, with this story I did. First I am going to say what I liked, then go into what just jarred me out of that enjoyment. Read more [...]

Is it possible to be totally ecked out and aroused at the same time? Oh, I would say it is. With some elements of D/s and trying to figure out who the ‘dead one’ is in this one, I was sucked into yet another short erotica story by Ms. Starke. She upped the game in this one, with the story of a woman that has lost her luggage and is at the police station to file a report. Not only does the very helpful cop offer for her to stay at his place, but a sexual escapade ensues that is enough to heat any cold, dead body.
This is a book that creates a futuristic world where men are highly outnumbered by women and there is a need for men to collar women for their own protection on a planet that doesn't allow women to be independent. Women serve as subs to the men and it's common for multiple females to live in a single household with one man.
This story ended up being very hard for me to rate. Although I very much enjoyed the writing style of Kayden, I think my own personal issues, have made me put off by the mass amount of books coming out where women are these magical ‘switches’. I’m in the lifestyle, trust me, I know it is totally possible. I know women that are, and I admire then for being about to be Dominant with so much ease. However, for some reason, in this situation, it was out of context for me. The scene was set of and made me want more, I was reading, and I was in it, I was getting aroused right along with the lead female. It was a threesome. Oh, I am so in it. Being between two men, albeit one is submissive, but still. TWO MEN! I was purring with delight—bombshell just blows up my finely built parade.
This story went back and forth for me. I had moments when I was drooling, then moments when I felt as if the writing was gathering a dead weight feel. I think the plot was just not a personal preference for me. I am not sure if the characters were too wooden for me, or if the plot didn’t speak to me with this level of hard limits with a character, but I didn’t click with this story. I think because we were tossed instantly into a scene, with no previous built up that I struggled.
It is very hard for me to review books by Olivia now. I feel like I am just saying the same thing over and over again. And my gushing just makes people eye roll at my review. But I can’t help it. Olivia is simply one of the best story tellers I have read. I am so glad that I discovered her with this The Edge Series. She can tell one hell of a wicked creepy tale, and this one is no different.
I have to say this book was good in premise and story line plot development. It is a romantic lust to love erotic tale that has a lot of action, storyline twists and turns, and hot steamy sex scenes from cover to cover. I love a story where the H/h meet and instant sparks fly along with their clothes. Where two rational people meet and can't resist doing the horizontal mambo without regret or disappointment. Then I can sit back and enjoy as they fight the inevitable HEA ending I know is coming. This is that type of book. I had to resist the urge to throw a fit and yell at my e-reader numerous times because of the stupidity and mistakes made by the characters in the book. Don't they know they're suppose to be together? I could see it so why couldn't they? ...
When I tried to write this review, I struggled. I finally had to stop and make a "likes" and "dislikes" list. Then the rest became trying to figure out how to explain how a book with a handful of "likes" and a laundry list of "dislikes" still qualified as a 4 kink book for me.
Sherri Hayes is on tour! YAY!! Her latest book in the Finding Anna series, Need, is being released next week. Penelope had the chance to sit down with Brianna, and Stephan, and ask a few questions! Be sure to comment for your chance to win!
Get ready to experience more of Sherri Hayes at her best. This isn't so much an erotica book as exposing human sex trade trafficking for what it is and what a survivor faces when they're freed. I had to continually remind myself that this was a fictional story. The character development and attention to details was a credit to the author who didn't sugar coat or gloss over Anna's history to have Stephan be the white knight of the story. ...
Sex.
Be still my wicked little heart. I LOVE this couple. D. Cristiana just has a way with words. I first read about this couple in a previous short done by the author. I was sucked in to their world and living it with them. It is sexy, dark, doomed, desperate, and beautiful all at once. Then, I happened upon All Romance and saw this as a new release and squealed so loud that the whole neighborhood heard me. I adore this couple. I think because Marguerite is so hopelessly strong-willed she is vulnerable.
J. A. Rock is celebrating her latest release Calling the Show with a blog tour! Please help me welcome her to our little corner of the net. There is also a giveaway so be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win!
Emma Dupree wants to build her journalism career up so she can quit her day job. To do so, she needs a big attention grabbing story to get her name out there. When she learns about the highly secretive Rod & Cane Society, where members are men and women who enjoy domestic discipline in their relationships, she knows she has her story.
The author, Cari Silverwood, has written a historical BDSM fictional erotica book that I feel is her best work to date. Well researched and written this story was the perfect blend of murder mystery suspense plot with hot erotica. The characters, each flawed in their own personal ways, were will matched with the right chemistry that had me knowing when they got together it was going to be special. ...
