Liz Borino is a multi-published author of GLBT romance.  As she’s now coming over to the BDSM side with her new release Action, we jumped at the chance to sit down and talk to her about it.

Thank you, Liz, for coming to our little corner of the internet today! We love having authors to grill, I mean, interview. :) Just to start out, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?

I live behind my computer screen, currently stationed in some irrelevant small town in Pennsylvania. When I leave my computer, I love to spend time in cities around the world, particularly New York and London.

My best training in the craft of fiction came from attaining Public Relations undergraduate degree. Now, when I’m not writing or editing romance and erotica, I’m analyzing classic literature in pursuit of a Master’s in English.

Q: When did you realize you were a writer?

I’ve been writing since I was eleven, but I’ve been a storyteller my whole life. Everything was exciting to me, even as a toddler.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your latest release?

ACTION is my first foray into erotic romance…and also BDSM. But despite the eroticism and kinkiness, it’s still primarily a love story.

Q: Is this book part of a series?

Yes! It’s the first book in the Ben’s Life series!

Q: Was there a character you enjoyed writing the most?

I love all my boys. I have to say when I started I didn’t think I’d like Zack because he was a Brat…but he had enough sweetness to compensate.

Q: Without giving away spoilers, can you share your favorite scene from the book?

The first waterfall scene. It’s a beautiful expression of love.

Q: What type of research did you do for this book? Were you surprised or shocked by anything you learned?

I did a great deal of research into the BDSM lifestyle. And I was shocked by the spectrum I encountered there. The exploration provided an increased respect and understanding for the people involved, specifically the equality inherent in power play.

Q: BDSM encompasses bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadomasochism. Which part(s) most interest you and why? What aspects can we expect to see in your story?

The world of dominance and submission really fascinates me. Again with the range, you can be a bedroom practitioner all the way to a 24/7 Master/slave relationship. As a very independent woman, I marvel at the strength and trust inherent in these relationships. In Action, I made sure I depicted the love Steve and Zack felt for one another, as well the needs they fulfilled.

Q: What is your favorite BDSM relationship to write about and why? (M/f, F/m, M/m, or another?)

M/m. First of all, I enjoy M/M more than any other pairing in general, but for a D/s relationship, I felt two males of approximately the same size and physical strength (the sub may even be stronger) demonstrated how consensual their relationship really was.

Q: Is there a kink, fetish, part of BDSM that interests you that you’d like to write about but haven’t yet?

I do like bondage, and that will be featured in the sequel.

Q: Where do you as an author draw the line on erotic subject matter?

Anything non-consensual…and things I don’t consider erotic because I can’t convincingly write to arouse if it doesn’t give me the same reaction.

Q: Who are your biggest supporters?

My beta readers. They’re an amazing group of people who build me up and keep me in line.

Thank you for joining us and hopefully you will come back to visit soon! Is there anything else that you would like to share?

I’d like to thank Kinky Book Reviews for having me today, and my readers for supporting me every day. I couldn’t do what I do, without you!
