Review by Kristina:
After losing her parents and fiancé over a short period of time, Lia Constantine is trying to get her life back in order.   When she receives a summons to meet with a casino boss out of the blue, she ignores it.  Obviously the guy has the wrong person.  When a couple of guys stop her during a job and force her into the back of their car, things start to get out of hand.

Business is business.  That’s how Jake Benetti runs his life.  After the death of his wife three years before, he stays focused and does what needs to be done to get through the next day.  When he realizes business means that Lia Constantine will lose everything she has left, he wonders if there’s anything human left in him to care.

This is another of those books that I find myself kind of torn on.  It’s a fast fun read.   I did not like Jake at the beginning… but I’m pretty sure you weren’t really supposed to.  He came across as a clichéd Italian mafia guy.  Lia had good points and bad points.  If you didn’t try to look too deep, and you got past the first few chapters with Jake, it got much better.  Jake still tended to tick me off, but he wasn’t as much of a mafia guy.

The story was a bit predictable, but still fun and lightweight.  If you are looking for just a fun quick read that you aren’t expecting to get too deep into?  Then grab this book and enjoy.  If you want something with good depth of characters and a story you can sink into?  Well, you can always read this one while you decide on one to sink into.
