Kenya is a cat on a mission. Go to her job interview in fabulous Las Vegas and manage to wrangle in a vacation. Shouldn’t be too hard to do in Sin City. She hadn’t counted on a hotel full of dogs giving her sneezing fits anytime she leaves her room. How can she get in relaxation, or even meet a guy when every one she encounters brings on an allergy attack?

Desperate and blotchy, she decides to try 1Night Stand. Maybe Madame Eve can set her up with a man who will knock her socks off before she knocks him off his feet? Or at least one she can date without taking a Benadryl.

Kenya finds herself blown away, in a different way, by handsome, charming, explosively sexy Raphael. But they are worse than apples and oranges—they are cat and dog, a huge problem any day of the week, even if she wasn’t allergic to his type!

Penelope’s Review:
This story about dog and cat shifters involves the 1Night Stand Dating Services matching animal shifters clients in Las Vegas. Kenya, a cat shifter, is job hunting/vacationing and decides to seek out the dating service to set her up with a blind date. An allergy to fur makes it hard for her to find someone who won’t cause her to break out sneezing and having an allergic reaction. Raphael, a dog shifter, is drop dead gorgeous and doesn’t trigger her sneezing fits. Maybe cats and dogs really can get along after all.

The core of this read was interesting. Men and women who turn into dogs and cats. Guess I’ll have to take a closer look at my neighbor. I always did think he looked and acted like a chihuahua  (maybe he really is). Funny dialogue and the human interpretation of animal behavior made this one funny story. The sub plot could have used more development and depth but I find most short stories seem to suffer from that.

The body of the story leans more towards story line action and dialogue than sex. The kinky play between the two, while being pretty hot to trot, lacked an intensity and animal chemistry aspect I am used to seeing in the 1Night Stand Series. The tone of this book was more of a teasing and challenging nature than Kenya and Raphael enjoying and taking pleasure in being with each other. The subsequent HFN (happy for now) ending was an appropriate ending as I didn’t feel they got to the point of happily ever after.

I found this story to have mild erotica with a contemporary urban fantasy feel that the cat and dog lovers out there will enjoy. It’s light hearted story line with hot bedroom action.
