Review by Riane:
After losing her husband two years ago, Dana isn’t certain about getting back into the game. She has dated a little but made sure to keep it vanilla. I mean, her husband taught her how to submit, how can she now give that gift to someone else? Finding herself attracted to another Dom makes Dana start questioning if perhaps she should try to make it work.
I enjoyed the characters of Zach and Dana. I cried with the characters a few times in this story… emotionally, not reacting from pain inflicted. However, there were some things that had me scratching my head. The biggest one was when questions arose about if Zach could handle the levels of pain Dana, as a masochist needed. Admittedly, Zach had a hard time dealing with the results of one scene where Dana was still wanting more but the Dom called it for safety reasons. However, in a couple of earlier scenes with Zach, she had been screaming and seriously thinking about safewording because of the pain. I didn’t understand that. If he can push her to where she’s about ready to safeword from the pain, I think that indicates he can handle the higher levels that she needs… but I’m not a masochist and maybe I’m missing something there. Beyond that, I really enjoyed the story.
This is the second Safeword book that I’ve read and both were extremely good, but, they aren’t for the faint of heart. There are sadists and masochists in these stories. There were a few scenes that I had to take a break on. Some of them were just memories, even. But in the end, I loved this book and cannot wait until the next one. All previous books in this series are stand-alone. However, this one will be continued in her next release Safeword: Davenport and Chiffon. I cannot wait.

I have the book , but not the time to read it.It will get pushed up on the list. You gave me the impresssion that this is a sort of dark BDSM story. I didn’t get that from the blurb, it sounded like a more questioning relationship about the trust that has to be between them. I’ll no more when I read it.
