It’s a dark stormy night. Our heroine finds herself swerving to miss an animal in the road and ends up stuck in the ditch… What is she to do? There was a house she passed a few minutes before, so she walks back and requests assistance from the brusque guy who answers her knock. Once the guard dog allows her inside, she learns it’s a private club. She will be allowed inside once she reads and signs some papers. She’s cold, wet, and they seriously expect her to read a bunch of pages containing what is probably just standard waivers?? Yep, she just signs. She is given a change of clothes, allowed into the restroom dry off and change. Upon entering the club, she realizes she’s not in Kansas anymore… She’s in the Shadowlands.
Ok, so Cherise Sinclair may put me in the stocks for that campy intro, might even provide a paddle for anyone to use **wince**, but please do not hold my words against this series or the author for that matter. While I was able to turn the very beginning into a bit of a campy horror movie, this series is anything BUT campy or horror. What is it? Well, it’s SEXY and HOT and AWESOME and … how many descriptors can I put in here?
You’ve met our heroine, Jessica, of the first book, Club Shadowlands. While in Shadowlands, Jessica quickly learns the folly of not reading before signing if you’re given 3 pages of waivers for what you think is a normal night club and she meets Master Z. Master Z is the owner of Shadowlands. He quickly becomes a bit on the possessive side with Jessica.. and Jessica of Master Z. I do not recommend trying to wrestle Master Z away from her… you may lose a body part… However, do not fret! Here, there be Doms abundant.
In Book 2, Dark Citadel, Kari attends a beginners introduction session at Club Shadowlands. It does take her a few more pages to realize her date is a dick than it does for the reader, but she does wise up. Master Z realizes that she still wants to learn, so he pairs her up with Master Dan. Then he stands back and lets the sparks, and the cuffs, fly.
When you’re on the run from a sadistic husband who left you scarred physically and emotionally, Shadowlands may or may not be the best haven. In Breaking Free, Beth is scared of giving up control again. She still has needs that she wants filled but she picks only the safe and easy Doms who give her just enough to get by. Knowing that Beth is hurting and not knowing exactly why, is hard for Master Z. He realizes that until Beth opens up, no one can help with her past, but he can help her with the present, so he sets out to find her a Dom who he trusts and can give her what she needs. Let me just say, when it comes to knocking down walls, the wolf in the Three Little Pigs has NOTHING on Master Nolan but can he keep her, and her heart, safe if he decimates the defenses she’s built?
Why is it that many of the strong, powerful Doms seem to be in law enforcement or military? That’s something Andrea would like to know in book 4, Lean on Me. Her family history is something that really doesn’t mesh well with law enforcement. She’s been looking through all the clubs in Tampa trying to find a Dom, who isn’t a cop, but is strong enough to gain her submission. When she starts to lose hope of ever finding what she needs, her friend offers a chance, albeit a bit tricky, to get her into the exclusive Shadowlands, so she jumps. When she lands, she finds that she’s jumped from the frying pan into the fire… and she’s not the only one who burns up. Good thing Cullen is a bartender… he has access to a lot of liquid to put out the fire, or build it up. What will Andrea do when she’s in over her head with a very strong Dom who won’t give an inch, and then realizes that the man she’s started to have feelings for is law enforcement in his day job?
The latest release is Make Me, Sir! When bratty subs start getting abducted from area clubs by a slavery group, Gabi goes undercover in the hopes of catching them. Placed into Shadowlands “trainee” program, against the standard protocol, puts her at a disadvantage with the others in the club. Especially the Master in charge of the trainee program, who dislikes bratty subs in general and having one forced upon him with no explanation infuriates him. Can Gabi stay focused on the case and resist her heart’s desire to give her submission to the one man who demands it?
Now, I know you’re thinking the Shadowlands is running out of Doms! Oh no… As the mighty fall, more mighty drop in for us to love… and beg/plead/demand they get their own book! There are some who you meet from the very beginning who I am still begging for… *ahem* Sally. *ahem* Fear not, the next addition to the group will be Master Raoul. One of the wickedly delicious Doms who you’ve met in some of the previous stories… You’ll also get to see some of your favorites again. I have recently learned that his book will be titled To Command and Collar!
Oh, once you’ve read the Shadowlands, find yourself hooked and in need of a Cherise Sinclair fix, don’t panic… there are several more books out there to read… but that’s another post.

My favorite scene is in Make me, Sir. When Marcus gets Gabi on that huge blow up Swan out in his pool and snogs the living daylights out of her. Ok, I OWN THAT SWAN!!!!! LOL And I had no clue I could do that with the swan! Well, I now know and Cherise should win awards for giving great ideas to married couples lol
If only I had a pool to put that swan in. And as for ideas you and your husband get… **laugh** I don’t think you need Cherise’s help on that one.

My favorite scene may shock folks but it’s the rescue scene in Breaking Free. It was unexpected and forceful. I don’t know but when Nolan and Master Z took care of business all I could do was cheer and think, it’s not often that something that real shows up in a romance.
Of course, I love all of Cherise’s books and highly recommend them to everyone I know.
The communication between Master Z and Master Nolan in that scene was wonderful. They were both focused on doing whatever was necessary to keep Beth safe. Then Master Nolan taunting the *ssh*le into attacking him a couple of times so he could have just enough to show self defense… That was a great scene.

There are so many favorite scenes, it is hard to pick. My absolute favorite line from any book is ‘even Jesus Thinks you’re a dumbass’!!! And one of my favorite moments is when Beth gives Master Cullen a big hug after he gets done with a scene that he was not comfortable with. I also love when Beth asks for a favor at the play party by calling Master Cullen ‘My Liege’!!
Not scenes, but just little moments. There are too many great scenes to pick just one! This is one of my favorite series ever!!!!!!
Yeah, the play party was fun. Master Cullen had to beat that girl so much because she’s a pain slut. Beth was ready to tear him apart but Master Nolan made her stop and really look. Then she went and hugged Cullen. It was sweet. I’m just glad I was NOT part of that party because well… They would have probably never gotten any drinks!
Then with Beth using all the different titles for Master Nolan! I love how all the others start in about how they can never get their subs to call them things like that.
The one scene I find myself going back to again and again is at the end of “Make Me, Sir” between Gabi and Marcus.
Marcus is in the hospital after having surgery from being shot. Gabi is hurt and banged up, but refusing to get treatment, instead choosing to stay by Marcus’ bedside waiting for him to wake up so she can apologize for his being hurt.
This scene just tugs at me because I can feel Gabi’s guilt and desperation that Marcus be okay. Her despair practically leaps off the page. While reading the scene, I knew Gabi needed medical attention herself, but I couldn’t fault her for wanting to stay by Marcus’ bedside. As Gabi finally walked out of his room only to collapse in the elevator, I think my heart broke along with hers.
I just wanted to fuss at her to wait and talk it out with him, at the same time my heart was breaking!
I’m just very glad that Master Marcus never gave up… and then Disney? That was so great.

Probably every other smart-off by Gabi in Make Me, Sir… How about “Here you go, dude” to Mr Dan when Gabi was sent with drinks. Her efforts to make Marcus lose it

It was hilarious when Gabi started making the list of all the insults she had learned from the teenagers she had helped! They were so awesome!! I loved the “That’s a dumb-*ss idea. You’re a dumb-*ss. Even Jesus thinks you’re a dumb-*ss.” I could not breathe because I was laughing so hard.

My favorite scene is from Lean On Me when Andrea was trying to cheer Master Cullen up and ended up over the dog house! I haven’t been able to look at one of those domed doghouses the same since! lol
I so want one of those domed dog houses now.
Of course, I only have an inside dog but hey…
My favorite is when Nolan asks/tricks Beth into saying yes to marrying him. I love that book and was really glad to see when they got engaged and that Beth overcame all her fears.
None of these guys can simply ask straight out, can they? But it’s so fun to see how they trick them or just order them.

I love this series! I can’t wait for the next story. My favorite scene has to be when all the Doms confront Master Z about lying to them in order to protect the FBI decoy. They are usually so respectful and in control of their emotions. Seeing them caught off guard was very interesting to me.
Could you imagine being in Master Z’s place and having all those Doms coming at him?? I’m glad it wasn’t me.

My favorite scene is when Z takes Jessica to the swing and ties her to it, when he starts to disrobe her she complains and he tells her if she doesnt stop every one will see her as he takes her on the lawn with her legs over his shoulders.

I love this series so much that I re-read the lot of them every time a new book comes out… and sometimes in between, too!
My favorite scene is in Dark Citadel. Kari has called Shadowlands to give Jessica a message that she has won’t be able to meet her at the club. Jessica gets the message and calls Master Dan to let him know. He doesn’t pick up on Jessica’s meaning, and she calls him a stupid asshole! Dan gets her address from Z once he (finally) decides to go see if Kari wants a ride to the club. I like Jessica very much, and I enjoy the scene where Dan and Kari are interacting outside of the club for the first time.
And, of course, Master Dan just HAS to let Master Z know that Jessica called him an asshole. That was just mean of Master Dan.
Read them all, loved them all. My favorite scene is in Breaking Free. Beth is asleep in Nolan’s arms and panics when she wakes up. I love the quiet, understated way Nolan calms and cares for her and her responses to him. That really describes the Dom/sub reslationship for me more than some of the more intense scenes do.
Oh that was such a great scene!!! I loved how she felt so safe with Master Nolan and was able to relax and trust him at least a little.

That was very sneaky of Marcus, and I don’t know about you, but I was VERY happy he did it. And then all the Masters confront Master Z? **shiver** I’m glad it was Master Z on the firing line.

And have re-read them oh my goodness I can’t count the number of times…as a matter of fact, right now I am on #2 for probably the 10th time *g* Ok my favorite scene…I have so many…but I might go with the scene in Lean on Me, when Cullen goes to Andrea’s house after she got kicked out of Shadowlands, then they go back to his place and he gets her to talk about why she won’t ask for help…that’s a very favorite scene for me
That was good. Doms are so good at just getting to the center of things. Whether we want them to or not. I just wish she had understood then what she was doing.

I know this answer is a little crazy but my favorite scenes are with Ben the front desk/security guard. I think he would make a GREAT book. I laughed SO hard when Jessica referred to him as a man, over sized and ugly battle-scarred Rottweiler.He has gotten pretty much the same “label” at the beginning of all the books but he has turned out to be a really sweet guy. I would love to know more of his story…
Ben is wonderful. I’m just not sure Cherise could write him without giving him a little kink. Does Cherise write vanilla?? Ben told Jessica that he was a straight vanilla kind of guy. I would like to see more of him tho. In the story and um… out of clothing.

Choosing just on scene is like trying to eat just one chip, I just can’t do it.
So, here are the two scenes that really stuck with me and still make me laugh, whenever I think about them.
#1 The scene in Make Me Sir, when she is strapped the to table and starts singing, before blowing out the candle. I can no longer hear that song, without laughing like a crazy person.
#2 It would have to be the scene with the pool party and the race, when one of the girls crushes the cup. i laughed throughout that scene too.
I hope that you know which scenes that I’m talking about. Since not everyone has read the books yet (as shocking as that may be) I didn’t want to give away too much in my response. That way they have the joy of experiencing them, without knowing too much details.
Oh I loved those scenes too. And Master Marcus was surprised when Gabi did that! It was too funny! The race had me squirming so much! I had mixed feelings about various parts of that scene but overall it was hot.

People are so varied in what they like–I love it.
I have noticed we have every book represented except Master Z and Jessica. I’m trying to come up with my favorite scene there beyond my favorite and most hated scene in that book. That would be the spanking scene. I both liked it and HATED it. Probably more hated it. I did enjoy his demonstration about a person who wasn’t comfortable reaching orgasm in a public scene.

My favourite scene has to be in Nolan’s book at the end where he ties Beth up to get her to admit her feelings and to move back in with him (I love any scene with ropes and Nolan *swoon*. I think the next in line would be the capture gardens scene with Dan and Kari…I could do with a top ten list really 
Given how many favorite scenes are in the capture gardens, I think we should all go play in them.

I love all of Cherise Sinclair’s books! My favorite scene…so hard to choose.
I love the scene in Make Me, Sir when Master Marcus puts Gabi into sub-space to get answers to his questions. While it was a hard scene to read from the stand point of feeling Gabi was somewhat violated, it was beautifully written on how a sub can get to sub-space. Marcus is just too perfect of a Dom. He knows how to handle Gabi and get what he wants and what she needs.
I have too many favorite scenes to list. One, the Rescue scene with Nolan coming to the rescue, where he decides, ‘So be it’. is probably my top favorite.
But then there’s that scene in “Make Me, Sir” where Gabi’s superiors show their dominant selves. That made me cheer out loud.
One of the sweetest moments, tho, was when Master Z agrees to start a family with Jess. It still warms my heart to remember. =) Can’t wait to see what happens next!
My favorite scene has to come from Make me, Sir although it is about Master Z and Jessica, it takes place when Master Z is proposing marriage to Jessica in the most sexy,dominant way possible. If I could go back to that they when I got propose I will wish it to be the same way Jessica have hers. (sigh)
I like any scene with Mistress Olivia. I like that she can make the Masters cringe with her tactics and that she is always so considerate to her subs.
However, my favorite scene has to come from Make Me, Sir when Gabi punched agent Rhodes in the nose for feeling her up. Girl power. Also, when she pick pocketed the kidnapper of his phone and she and Jessica managed to call Z. The rescue scene was great, too. Pretty much, Cherise Sinclair just outdid herself in this last book and I can’t wait for the next!

He has to have more of a story and I’m curious enough to think he’s not really a vanilla sort of guy.

Okay, one of my favorite scenes is from Dark Citadel, the blow up between Master Dan and Kari after their fun in the Shadowlands gardens. I enjoyed Dan’s fight with Buck, Master Z’s kindness to Kari (Master Z is THE BEST!) and Kari and Dan’s reconciliation.
Of course, I may change my mind in the next 30 minutes or so and pick another favorite scene………
As stated by so many others, I love these books. THe writing is excellent, the stories gripping, the characters unforgetable… ONE of my fav scenes is in the beginning of Breaking Free when Nolan and Beth first meet and he;s checking out all her old wounds. He says ‘Sugar, you’re a mess.’ For some reason, I just love that line.
I love that scene too. You’re heart is breaking for her, and you can feel the empathy from Nolan.
Popping in again. Writing can be so frustrating, but reading how y’all like the books gives me courage to charge in again. It’s like preparing for battle and getting handed a sword instead of a paring knife.
@rita z, Dom space is different from subspace, oddly enough. Rather than lala-land, they seem to hit a super-focused, highly charged state. (hey, we really don’t want some Dom with a flogger anything except highly alert, right?) But, in To Command and Collar, you’re with Master Sam all the way through a scene, so I hope you’ll let me know if you enjoy that.
I love all of the shadowland books and the others that Cherise has written as well, but I do have to admit lean on me is one of my favorites the scene where Alex comes home and finds. Mackenzie naked bent over his spanking bench after she gave in to her I know I’m not suppose to open the locked door but I have to what’s behind it , just begs for what happens next*weg*. I laughed sighed cried and whimpered threw this books , I love all of the stories the Doms are Alpha males who cherish and love the sub missives who enter their lives sometimes in spite of themselves , I can’t wait for the next book !

Picking a favorite scene is almost impossible. I love all the books and there really isn’t a scene that I wouldn’t read over and over. But I think I’d have to pick the scene where Marcus takes Gabi to the Animal Kingdom to see the animals and have lunch with his grandparents. He had me at Disney World
I loved how he knew that she would love it and that it would show different side to him. Not to mention I love Disney …it was the perfect combination for me …a Dom and Disney. I need to find one like Marcus 
I saw a mention in a book review that Cherise Sinclair was the author to read for BDSM novels, which was a whole new field for me. I got Club Shadowlands, started reading, and when Jessica got in the shower that was me hollering, “NO!!!” “Look out, girl!” Sure enough, I soon realized that this book was going to be reeeaallly different, and it was. By the end, I was firmly hooked and have now read every available book by Ms. Sinclair, and will be reading To Command and Collar whether I win a copy or not. However, I do not promise to stop yelling when someone does something…..that can lead to …. something else.
I love the scenes in the capture garden. I be hunted by such amazing Dom’s make me sudder.
I just recently discovered the Shadowlands books and have totally read them out of order, so I read the first one last, oops! But I loooove the scene where Z takes Jessica to his home upstairs the club, and how she tells him she doesn’t want him to be with any other subs. I was just waiting for her to say something before she lost him and it made me so happy she did! And, finally reading this one made me understand and appreciate Z’s and Jessica’s scenes in Make Me, Sir better.

That Dom’s Dungeon scene was born when the Loose Id authors wanted to start a vacation swapping theme, and one author wondered what odd things a visitor might find in a vacation home…and, my mind immediately jumped to: a dungeon! Oooo, what if you borrowed a home and found a dungeon in it? And the book just unfolded from there.

I started the series with the first book and as soon as I finished it I went back for the other four. I’m looking forward to the next book.
I’m torn on finding my favorite scene in one of the books because there are several that struck me. If I had to pick though, I would have to say it was in the first book when Jessica was sitting in the entry hall after her spanking and she decides to go back into the club. I think it shows her strength and determination to explore a world she’s curious about despite the unsettling introduction she’d already had.
Jessica has always been one of my absolute favorites. Never forget the first, right?

I’ve given this a lot of thought and just can’t choose. So, I’ll choose my first–the scene where Jessica is spanked for interrupting a scene at Shadowlands. Master Z doesn’t want to do it (which reminds me of some other Doms I love) and is so good with her afterward. LONG afterward. So, that’s my favorite (of many)!

There are tidbits that I like from them all but I think the one scene out of Cherise second book Breaking Free. Nolan caught Elizabeth playing a scene with another dom and she has to go to him and apoligize knowing that she jeopardized their relaionship that was fragile, he forgives her and she ends up on his lap and slept.
I guess no contest for a BDSM series would be complete without a little torture… which is what trying to choose ONE favorite scene felt like! Like another commented, I started the series with “Make Me, Sir” and immediately went back and started from the beginning after finishing. These were my first BDSM books, and I was hooked. Like a parasite.
I’m thinking that my favorites are going to be from Master Raoul’s story, but for now… Master Dan has so many awesome one-liners that I have to go with the scenes where he’s really introducing Kari to the lifestyle. “We have time, sweetheart, and I’m going to take my time.” And “Tonight, I can – and I will – take you, with my hands. My mouth. My cock. Anyway I want. As many times as I want.” Freakin’ A, how could anyone resist that?! Those are just 2 quotes of many that I love from “Dark Citadel.”

It’s in Cullen’s book “Lean on Me” when he punishes Andrea for having a fake orgasm with another dom and she gets put on the wooden sybian.
